Initial Stage
The Kenyan small scale farmers have been growing vegetables. However, mostly they activities are limited to the rainy months. When the dry season comes, most small scale farmers do not have the water and the necessary infrastructure at their disposal.
In the end, this leads to vegetable glut that drive the price down to the bottom. The experience is that, the farmers grow vegetables that do not bring them money. The most therefore only grow for their own consumption.
