Early June, we decided for the construction of a biogas plant. The increasing electricity bills motivated us to take this step. We expect to reduce our farm electricity bill from about KSHS 9,000. - by KSHS 4,500. And the gas bill of about KSHS 3,500. - will be eliminated completely from the month’s budget.

Green House Tomatoes – Success Story

In the middle of January, we started our green houses project for tomatoes. Within approx. 3 weeks the green houses were built and seeded. Since the middle of Mai 2011, a continuous harvesting started and now this gives us a regular income.

Farm day moved to May or June

With the start of activities with the Ministry of Agriculture, it was decided that a farm day would be held at our test farm in March or April 2011. It shall be shown that one can grow in a farm in Jua Kali more that only maize. Although the work with the green houses progressed very well, we worry a little about the water for our open vegetable farm and for the supply of cows and sheep.
