With the start of activities with the Ministry of Agriculture, it was decided that a farm day would be held at our test farm in March or April 2011. It shall be shown that one can grow in a farm in Jua Kali more that only maize.

Although the work with the green houses progressed very well, we worry a little about the water for our open vegetable farm and for the supply of cows and sheep. It is a dry season now in Kenya and at the moment both of boreholes does not produce enough water for these.

In order to reduce water consumption, we have put different measures. Saving in domestic use, equipping the open vegetable farm with the same dripping system that we use in the green houses. Additionally, we will have to dig our second borehole a little deeper so that we get more water.

As a result of the delay experienced, the Farm day will probably take place in June. We will inform you in advance about it.
