Push&Pull - The Results
On this same field we could harvest between 12 and 18 sacks of maize in the previous years. It corresponds to the general reality in our environment and with the bad prices which the farmer usually gets, then it is not really a good business. This only helps individual families more on their own consumption. The costs of fertilizers field preparation using tractor are higher in the conventional farming method than Push and Pull.
With Push and Pull we harvested 26 sacks of maize in the first year. According to push-pull.net the results should be better in the coming years. During the harvest the stalks were also completely free from vermin. The grains were bigger than in the other years and the individual cobs were so much heavier. In addition to the significant increase in maize yields, we could also provide napier grass and desmodium for our cows.
